One of the best-preserved medieval towns in the Mediterranean, Korcula is instantly recognizable. Its red-roofed houses and stunning walled-in Old Town jut out into the sea. Korcula is also one of the greenest islands in the Adriatic and has marvelous natural scenery. Korcula sits on the edge of nature. Look forward to rolling hills for hiking and cycling. Of course, Korcula boasts a gorgeous seaside, with a variety of pebbly and sandy beaches. Lumbarda, a quaint fishing village, is another highlight. The island's position in the Adriatic makes it an ideal stopover when traveling between Dubrovnik and Hvar. It's a pleasant destination for a several-day stay.
Marco Polo's hometown!
Korcula holds a privileged position among the Croatian islands. There are more legends, tales, and monuments here than anywhere else.
Highlights of the Old Town of Korcula include the Cathedral of St. Marco and Marco Polo's original home. The island produces some of the finest white wines in the region too. It's a short trip away from the neighboring Peljesac peninsula. This area is famous for its high-quality wine, both red and white. Korcula is rich in culture and tradition, with a storied past dating back to ancient Greek times. If you are lucky during your stay, you will catch a Moreska performance. This is a spectacular combat dance conducted with swords and in heavy armor. Korcula is certainly one of the must-sees for travelers in Croatia. Whether you're looking for a beach vacation, wine tasting, or just real relaxation, you'll find it here.

What we love about Korcula
Team Leader for France, Benelux & Switzerland
I love Korcula for many reasons. The charming Old town which tells stories about the life of Marco Polo leaves me speechless every time I go back there. The lively main square, where you feel like a local no matter how touristy it gets in the summer is a special place where you can always hear some small talk between locals. This place is vibrant and so historical at the same time. There are so many hidden beaches and peaceful places around the island that I always discover something new and special when I visit. Each of Croatian islands has their own character and specific vibe and Korcula can be praised for its rich history and picturesque villages. Although most people focus on Korcula town, the island has much more to show. Small picturesque vineyards are spread around different areas of the island and the best way to explore Korcula is to drive around at a slow pace. Lumbarda is the favorite of the island's villages, and a must-see.
Team Leader for Adriatic Region
What I love about Korcula is that you can have both it both ways - you can be alone on a remote beach during the day, but still enjoy busy city vibes in the evening, strolling around narrow streets.
Team Leader for Greece & Turkey
Not just the city, but the entire island of Korcula has wonderful scenery. If you are looking for an island that will give you a bit of peace from all the hustle of Croatia's cities, Korcula is definitely it. There are so many secluded bays and beaches, charming villages all over the island, that you will fall in love instantly.
